A dead fairy, a deal with the devil, and a cat in a parrot costume.

Emma’s psychic reading for the magical mafia is going…okaaay. Until an enemy crashes through her window with a deal she can’t refuse.

Her dad is trapped in the fae realm. They’ll return him if she solves a murder. Easy peasy. She’s unraveled plenty of mysteries in the past year.

But this murder hasn’t happened yet. And the killer isn’t done. The only way to stop them is to go undercover at the Emerald City Renaissance Faire, where not everyone is human, but everything is for sale.

The faire isn’t all fire-breathers, jesters, and jousters. It’s a hub of black-market magic. Even as Emma closes in on the killer, a cult goes to war with the mob for control and a mastermind prepares their coup de grâce.

Another winner!!! can't wait for the next!

The sixth book in this series was one of my favorites and keeps it all very exciting! The series keeps getting better and better. This one keeps up the big series arc, has a very cool and very unique mystery, and has some awesome laugh out loud moments. It even keeps the series feeling fresh as it changes the pace a little, giving some other characters some "screen time" and a bunch of it taking place outside of Undertown . These characters continue to grow and are so much fun. Can't wait for the next!

Murder at the renaissance faire

This was another good mystery. I felt sad about the fairy who was targeted to die. But if Emma finds the killer then she will get her Dad back from the Fae, which would be a happy event. Throw in a secondary plot about a mafia family and this was a great fast paced read.
